Introduction/

The National Engineering Laboratory for Green Chemical productions of alcohols-ethers-esters (Xiamen University) (hereinafter referred to as "the laboratory") was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in June 2008 and successfully passed the acceptance as an excellent project on December 28, 2012. The director responsibility system under the leadership of the Council and the guidance of the technical committee is implemented in this office. Its construction objectives and tasks are carrying out application research, industrial development, design verification, standard research, personnel training, technology promotion and service around the green chemical production technology of alcohols, ethers and esters. Based on these missions, the laboratory can so as to provide strong technical support for further improving the overall independent innovation ability and technological progress of the industry.

We have set up a team with Academician Wan Huilin as the technical leader. With dozens of research and engineering talents with rich practical experience and profound attainments, the technical team actively undertakes the related technical projects in the field of national energy and chemical industry, and is committed to the independent research and development of new generation of important catalysts and advanced green catalytic process in coal based fuel chemical industry and the industrial transformation of innovative application research and development achievements. At present, there are 35 fixed researchers, including 1 academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, 2 distinguished professor of Changjiang Scholars, 3 winners of the national fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, 2 national outstanding young talents, 1 scientific and technological innovation leader of the ten thousand talents program of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and 2 overseas high-level young talents.

Our existing basic R & D department is located in chemical building of Siming Campus (3000 square meters); R & D amplification platform is located in energy building 1 of Xiang'an Campus (5600 square meters) and process amplification platform is located in engineering room of energy building 3 of Xiang'an Campus (1000 square meters). It has all kinds of modern equipment and instruments for energy and chemical industry, high-tech materials and chemicals, more than 10 large-scale advanced analytical instruments such as XRD, TGA, IR etc., and has completed the construction of 3 sets of "coal to synthetic natural gas" and other model test devices, with the ability to undertake major application research and engineering of the state and enterprises.
